"Jacob's Dream" is the new workshop for Tanner Mission, supervised by volunteers, the residents complete projects of greeting cards, wooden neck crosses, cross stitch work for covered address books, bookmarks and framed stitch work. The most recent addition is wooden coasters in the wood working shop. The building itself was funded through 2 grants, one from Italy and one from Ireland.
The residents receive a small stipend for their work when it is sold in Italy, Ireland and America. The children also have a mission project that stems from the workshop…..they have decided to tithe on their meager wages to assist in support of one elderly woman who lives near "Jacob's" ...the poor woman is over 70 yrs old, lives with her one huge pig, with whom she shares her shack.
It is truly wonderful to see our workshop kids taking on a mission of their very own.
"Jacob's Dream" is already self sufficient in funding, they pay their own electric and heat through the selling of their crafts.
On Sundays, "Jacob's Dream" is our church building, we have services every Sunday, open to all.
On holidays we all gather there to share our special holiday meals, sometimes over 80 are at His table.
On Saturdays we have our birthday parties, all the children can now attend everyone’s birthday! We have an average of 3 birthdays each month.
