Casa Elisabeta, the first of the group homes, has now been running since 1993. Its house parents are Sandie and Bruce Tanner.
Although largely independent within the home, all of the young women have learning disabilities. There are a few that also have physical disabilities.
The girls range in age from teenagers to early 30’s. All the residents attend workshops daily, making crafts that are sold in Ireland and Italy. The girls keep their own house clean as well as help out in other homes within the mission and assist Sandie in her widow’s ministry in the village.
There is a huge garden at Casa Elisbeta that keeps everyone busy in spring through fall, the harvest is then canned and preserved for winter.
